If you are interested in using the Dementia Services, or would be interested in volunteering to help, they would be delighted to see you. Dementia Action Week runs this year from 15th to 21st May . On Tuesday 17th May Greenbuttercup will be taking part in a Dementia Information Morning being held at Romsey Town Hall from 10am-1pm. Later in the week, there is the opportunity for those living with Dementia to go along with their carers or relatives to the Plaza eatre in Romsey to join in their Jubilee celebrations. Drop in anytime from 10.30am-12.30pm on Friday 20th May to join in some bunting-making, have a cream tea, and look at some Jubilee photos and memorabilia. Entry is free with donations for refreshments. If you would like a cream tea, please call: 01794 501605 to book one so they know numbers to cater for. Finally, during Volunteers Week at the beginning of June, Greenbuttercup will be taking part in Unity’s Volunteer Fair in Romsey Town Hall on Tuesday 7th June from 10am-1pm. is is an opportunity for anyone who may be interested in volunteering with Greenbuttercup to go along and nd out what they do. EVERGREEN CLUB FOR OVER 60’S For enjoyable a ernoons, a warm welcome awaits over 60’s as visitors or members to the Evergreen Club. ey meet every month at St. John’s Hall, Hythe on 1st and 3rd Thursdays 1.45pm to 4pm. Each month they have a speaker or entertainment and another social a ernoon, both with tea and cakes. ey also organise Spring and Autumn lunch trips. eir next Social a ernoon meetings are on Thursday 19th May , Thursday 16th June , Thursday 7th July and then on Thursday 21st July for a talk by Roger Daniels titled ‘Life as a Magician’. For more information telephone Peter on: 023 8089 1721. Hythe Huddle Hythe Huddle had a wonderful Easter Bonnet making session and Easter parade last month, on 6th April. On Wednesday 1st June at 2pm Hythe Huddle would like to invite all local people with dementia to a very special Royal Jubilee party at Cornerstone Church, New Road, Hythe. ere will be a fun ‘street party’ in the hall, plus entertainment from a singing group, all free of charge. All those living with dementia and their spouses or carers in the Hythe and Waterside area are welcome to go along, no booking required. It’s at 2pm. Do go and join them for this special celebration event. Easter Huddle Parade 2022 LUNCH CLUB St John’s Senior Lunch Club is a wonderful way to meet new people, enjoy a home cooked, two course meal with a hot drink for £5 (Carers will eat free of charge). With its social and friendly atmosphere, Emma and her friendly team of volunteers are ready to welcome all guests. Every Wednesday 12-1pm at St John’s Hall, Hythe SO45 6BP. Coping with the digital age Do you need help in understanding how to use your smartphone, tablet or laptop? Drop in sessions run by Digital Champions are available every Monday 11am–12noon and Wednesday 10am–11am in Hythe Library. Sessions are also held in libraries in Lymington, Tuesdays 2pm–3pm; Fordingbridge, Wednesdays 9.30am–10.30am and Ringwood Wednesdays 10am–12noon and New Milton Thursdays 10am–12noon. e sessions are run by experienced IT specialists who can provide assistance ranging from basic use and understanding of the library computers or your own smartphone to resolving slow systems and security advice. is is a free service provided by volunteers of Citizens Advice New Forest.
