Beaulieu Village Hall was lled with the colour and scents of 24 di erent classes of owers and shrubs. Visitors were intrigued and surprised by the variety of Da odils on display in 8 di erent classes. It was an ideal opportunity to have a close-up view of the subtle di erences in colour, form and scent of the many Spring owers on display. Whilst the total number of exhibitors and exhibits were down on pre-Covid numbers, nevertheless it was heartening that some members, exhibiting for the rst time, achieved awards. Paula Husband created a stunning e Horticulture and Cra Show is taking place at St. Andrews Hall, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 4PT on Saturday 30th July from 1pm to 3.30pm. Entry is 50p for over 16’s, refreshments will be available as well as a plant sale. If you’d like to enter the show you can collect a schedule and application form from either St Andrews Church or Hythe Library. exhibit under the title Dazzling Da odils and was awarded a Certi cate of Merit for Floral Art from the Worshipful Company of Gardeners. Lady Montagu, who is President of the Society, presented the following awards: Lady Montagu’s Cup for most points in the Flower Classes to Liz Coppack . e Evelyn Holt Cup for the best Pot Plant to Amanda Barker- Mill . e O’Donnell Cup for the best single exhibit in the Flower Classes to Linda Dealing . The Playdell- Bouverie Cup for the best exhibit in the Floral Arrangement Classes to Paula Husband . On Saturday 14th May at 11am in East Boldre Village Hall there will be a co ee morning and plant sale, open to all. No admission charge. On Monday 16th May at 7.30pm in Beaulieu Village Hall there will be a talk ‘Pelargoniums’ by Roger Butler. Dazzling Daffodils, created by Paula Husband Horticulture and Craft Show Woodlands Gardening Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings start at 7.30pm at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Road, Netley Marsh and their next meeting takes place on Tuesday 24th May for a talk by Pete White, Head Gardener for a Private evening guide of Furzey Gardens. (Numbers limited to 25, please check availability). Followed on Tuesday 14th June for a talk by Gillian Taylor titled ‘From Field to Garden’.
