SPORT IN THE HERALD More Success for Fawley RFC Juniors Bramshott Hill Seniors Results Fawley Juniors have been continuing to enjoy some fantastic rugby throughout April. Sunday 22nd April saw the U16’s travel to Vectis on the Isle of Wight in fancy dress, no doubt confusing a few holidaymakers! On the same day the U15’s hosted Tottonians at Gang Warily and spectators were treated to an incredible display of teamwork from the home side who triumphed 36-5 over Totts with Fawley’s Aidan Cross scoring 4 of the 6 Fawley tries. Meanwhile the U10’s thrilled Fawley supporters at the Basingstoke Festival and what a festival it was for Fawley. It was a total whole team performance. Playing with no subs, the boys were undefeated throughout, scoring 25 tries and only conceding 3. Sam Archiebald and Elyan Smith were top try scorers with 6 and 7 respectively. Both Archie Rangecro and Harrison Jones were always in the thick of any breakdown and the support play in attack and defence was a real credit to the boys. Fawley were pleased to win the TREDS award for sportsmanship. ey made all the parents, grandparents and coaches super proud. Of course, this whole Junior section of the Club can not run without support from it’s fantastic volunteers. As the 2021/22 season comes to an end they are looking to next season and (hopefully) a new clubhouse. In order for the 2022/23 season to carry on in the same vein the Club continues to need more volunteers. Support can come in the form of making bacon rolls for hungry players to rst aiders, referees, coaches and admin support roles. No knowledge of rugby is needed for many of the support roles and a friendly welcome is guaranteed to anyone who has a few hours to spare. Of course nancial contributions are especially welcome with regards to their new clubhouse build and the club would love to hear from any potential sponsors. If you feel you can help or would like to join the club, there are no age limits... players start from school year R and you can continue to play up to their very active walking rugby team.
