Show brochures and details are available from St Andrews or Hythe library, or can be downloaded from: hytheanddibden.gov.uk e new committee has been busy putting everything in place for a super day on Saturday 30th July at St Andrews Hall in Dibden Purlieu, and is putting out a request for a little more help in the following areas: 1. Someone to organise the tea/co ee and cake sales on the day – and receive/organise cake donations please. is is a great fund raiser for future shows to take place. 2. Donations of plants please for plant stall sale - must be potted up and labelled. No trees or indoor plants. 3. Anyone interested in helping generally on the day. ere have been rumours circulating recently that the Barber Shop on New Road, Hythe is set to close following a recent planning application for change of use for the building. Owners Alice and Malcom have been in touch with us here at the Herald to say that they are not closing down or planning to anytime soon. Preparations are currently underway for their 75th Anniversary celebration which will take place later this year so keep your eyes peeled for details of their celebrations! 4. Entries to the show are needed ASAP so that they aren’t inundated in the nal 24 hours with 200 entries! Plants and veg are supposed to be relaxing – help them to organise this in a truly Zen way! Let’s make sure it thrives for another 100 years. HYTHE VOLUNTARY CAR GROUP – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Have you got a few hours a week to spare to help the Hythe Voluntary Car group? ey provide a vital service to transport people who are unable to drive themselves to hospital or doctors appointments. ey are looking for somebody to help take bookings on the telephone one morning a week as well as additional drivers using their own cars (expenses are paid).
