With their successful Seniors teams and Walking Rugby group, this means there is now Don’t feel le out if your skills are more of a practical nature - there are always things to x, shelves to build and trophy cabinets to construct! Whatever your ability they have the volunteering opportunity to match in person or virtually. ey are starting to add speci c roles to the Volunteer First website and are sure that a er the long school holidays that they can tempt more people to join their happy band in September. ey like to think of the club as one big happy family that always welcomes new family members and all training will be given free of charge if the role requires it. If volunteering in your local community has been something you’ve been contemplating please get in touch at: juniorchair@ fawleyrfc.co.uk to arrange an informal chat about how they can welcome you. Of course if you also play or know someone that would like to then watch this space for new season announcements. a logical progression for rugby lovers from age 4 to 104 (or above!). However it’s not all about activity on the pitch. Running a club of this size takes an enormous effort and whilst they are pleased to have a dedicated band of volunteers spanning the age groups, they are always on the lookout for more helpers. Perhaps you are a parent of a child playing at the club, or a retired player who has a bit of time on their hands? Perhaps you know nothing about rugby but would like to volunteer to help your local community and are looking for something a little bit di erent. Whatever your background, Fawley Juniors has something for you and they need more helpers from September on or o the pitch. If you’re in the active category then we always need Referees, Coaches and volunteers to run the line at matches and to help set-up or clear-up on match and training days. is will usually be at the Newlands Park pitches opposite Gang Warily. If you have a medical background, then perhaps you could put your skills to good use as one of their rst aiders? If you just want some company and can make a good bacon sandwich and cup of tea to warm the hands of supporters in the winter, then you’d be perfect for helping out in the little pitch-side food outlet on Sunday mornings between 9.30am-12noon. ey also need some behind the scenes help for those of an organised administrative mind, whether it be contributing to the social media or website activity or helping to organise xtures as a Team Manager. ey also have vacancies for those who have fundraising skills. As you might be aware they are in the planning stages of building a new clubhouse and are constantly in need of encouraging nancial input to the club to make this project happen.
