Experienced climbers can make use of the recreational climbing walls where the height of every ascending route will go towards the nal total. Younger or less experienced at climbing, can try out the Take O activities - make your way to the top of the Tetris, speed climbing and icicle themed routes and be gently lowered by the auto belay systems. Whether you’re a climbing pro or new to the sport, every metre counts towards the nal tally. ey’ll tick o landmarks such as the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, andMount Kilimanjaro on the way to reaching Everest. Accessible climbing options are also available. A session costs just £5, that’s more than 40% o a regular Take O or recreational climbing session. Plus, all proceeds will go towards e Gurkha Welfare Trust who help Gurkha veterans, their families, and their wider communities to live their lives with dignity in Nepal. Also on Saturday 4th June 4pm to 5pm British record-breaking polar explorer and adventurer Adrian Hayes will be talking about the ree Poles Challenge - which involved walking all the way to the North Pole, South Pole and summiting Mount Everest. Tickets are £5 per person. With ice cream, cakes and sweets stalls you’re not go hungry. ere will be many local businesses there selling products, providing games or entertainments. Let’s not forget popular fete activities such as the coconut shy, bouncy castle, face painters, glitter tattoos, hook a duck and many more. e grand ra e has £200 cash as its rst prizes. You can purchase tickets on the day or beforehand at the Hythe and Dibden Cricket Club or e Lord Nelson pub. Other prizes include family tickets to Beaulieu Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Ninja Warrior Southampton, Boulder Shack and many more. e event is run as always by dedicated volunteers from the Guiding, Hythe Youth Club, Hythe & Dibden Cricket Club with the proceeds being split to provide much needed funds for these community groups.
