Local artist Simon Chadwick was commissioned by the Hythe Traders to design a light-hearted illustration of her Majesty to be on display in the village. e artwork can be found opposite Toys Ahoy on the way to the Promenade. Why not post your sel es with the Queen on social media using #hythealive Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase limited edition postcards, badges and other merchandise featuring the design with all pro ts raised going to Hythe Alive which funds various community events in the village throughout the year including the very popular Halloween Treat Trail and of course funding the Christmas lights. Various retailers around the village will be stocking the merchandise including Cards for All Occasions, Harveys of Hythe, e Post O ce and Toys Ahoy. Trails will be available to buy online and from e Lookout at Lepe and will be running daily until 5th June. Join Nick Duncombe and Kirsty Purves for an evening of music from classics to modern favourites on Friday 3rd June , 7.30pm at Abbey United Reformed Church, Romsey. Entry is free. Go along and celebrate e Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Lepe Country Park on Thursday 2nd June . To commemorate this momentous milestone, one never achieved by any other monarch, Lepe have a fun family event planned. Enjoy live music and entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere, culminating in the lighting of the beacon at 9.45pm. e Lookout will be serving hot and cold food and drinks throughout the evening. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting Evening The Best of British On Thursday 2nd June across the Queens Commonwealth Beacons will be lit at 9.45pm to celebrate the Jubilee. At Gang Warily Recreation Centre from 9pm-10pm there will be a piper and bugle playing, the Marchwood Military Wives Choir will also be performing and they hope that you can all join them to start the celebration for Her Majesty the Queens 70th Year. e Big Jubilee Lunch is taking place on Sunday 5th June 11am-2pm on the eld at Gang Warily Recreation Centre. Take a picnic and listen to music and celebrate with your local community. ere will be food stalls, a bar, outside games and bouncy castles.
