I recall the tumbler of water, saucer on top and teaspoon. e water had a few granules of the medicine stirred in and every so o en I was given a teaspoonful or two. You get better, life goes on and you don’t think about it much, until perhaps you have a child of your own. Not that the medicines are just for children; age is no barrier. Most major cities had homeopathic hospitals and Glasgow, the city of my birth, had some remarkable physicians. e last couple of decades have not been easy for homeopathy, the reasons are philosophical and too complex to explain here. Yet there are adherents across the globe, most notably in India where doctors can choose to train in orthodox western medicine or homeopathic medicine. I spent two weeks in Calcutta watching two remarkable doctors - fourth and h generation of the same family - at work. You cannot be dismissive. Personally, I have found homeopathy both helpful and a most interesting subject. It poses some interesting questions as to our nature as human beings. A basic appreciation, plus a little kit such as that which the Queen carries, can help you and your family on their life’s ‘travels’.
