If you know or care for someone who is living with Dementia, Hampshire Search and Rescue are asking you to consider the Herbert Protocol to help the emergency services locate people with Dementia if they go missing. e Herbert Protocol is a national scheme that encourages carers, family and friends to provide and put together useful information, which can then be used in the event of a vulnerable person going missing. Simply complete the questionnaire and keep it in a safe place ready to produce to the police in the event of an emergency. is vital information will help search teams to gather all the relevant information and begin searching. Recording this information ahead of time will greatly reduce stress associated with trying to recall detailed information in an emergency. EVERGREEN CLUB FOR OVER 60’S Waterside Cancer Support Centre COPING WITH THE DIGITAL AGE Do you need help in understanding how to use your smartphone, tablet or laptop? Drop in sessions run by Digital Champions are available every Monday 11am–12noon and Wednesday 10am–11am in Hythe Library. Sessions are also held in libraries in Lymington, Tuesdays 2pm–3pm; Fordingbridge, Wednesdays 9.30am–10.30am and Ringwood Wednesdays 10am–12noon and New Milton Thursdays 10am–12noon. e sessions are run by experienced IT specialists who can provide assistance ranging from basic use and understanding of the library computers or your own smartphone to resolving slow systems and security advice. is is a free service provided by volunteers of Citizens Advice New Forest. Hythe Memory Group meet up every Monday, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm at Cornerstone (Hythe URC), New Road, Hythe. Families Matter run the support group which o ers cognitive stimulation therapy for people with early stage dementia. It encourages people to socialise and have fun learning and remembering together. Carers are also welcome to stay and have a cup of tea and chat to other carers.
