v WE’VE BEEN YOUR LOCAL SINCE 1994 v 2nd June 2022 • The HERALD • Page 67 Hares of Hampshire Trail Southampton and Winchester will be brought to life with a drove of Hares and their young Leverets sculptures, creating a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for everyone to enjoy whilst exploring two great cities. e Hares of Hampshire Trail is starting on Thursday 16th June running until Thursday 25th August . Each sculpture is sponsored by a business and individually designed by an artist – either well-known or just starting out, from Hampshire or further a eld. From the 8th to 11th September , there will be the chance to say a nal ‘goodbye’ at a Farewell Event before each Hare is auctioned to raise funds for e Murray Parish Trust which is dedicated to the advancement of paediatric emergency medicine across the South of England. e charity ensures that children a ected by major trauma can receive the best emergency care as close to home as possible. Actress Sarah Parish, Founder of Murray Parish Trust, recently visited Winchester with one of the Hares in a Hendy MOKE provided by Hendy who are sponsoring one of the Hares to begin the countdown to the art trail. For more details visit their website at: www.hareso ampshire.co.uk Sarah Parish in Hendy MOKE RAGWORT PULL Abbotswood Area for Nature Conservation (ANC), located adjacent to the new Abbotswood d e v e l o p m e n t , (SU364228) will be holding a Ragwort Pull on Sunday 12th June , from 10am until 2pm, entrance to the reserve by the football pitches. Abbotswood ANC has been designated primarily due to the presence of great crested newts, a European protected species. e site contains a host of interesting habitats, including wetlands, ancient semi- natural woodland and grassland. ese support a wealth of wildlife including birds, mammals such as bats, and insects, including butter ies and dragon ies. e site also boasts 14 veteran oak trees, estimated to be over 300 years old and each a home to hundreds of other species, making them a hugely important part of the site. Brockenhurst Music Society Brockenhurst Music Society are very excited to launch their 2022 season of concerts. e concerts, given by young highly talented professional musicians will be held at St Saviour’s Church, Brockenhurst at 7.30 pm on the following dates: Monday 13th June - Indira Grier (cello) and Daniel Lebhardt (piano), both international performers and prize winners, playing works by Beethoven and Brahms. Monday 11th July - Mithras Trio , formed in 2017 at the Guildhall School, currently in the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists scheme and regular Radio 3 broadcasters, playing works by McDowall, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Monday 8th August - James Gilbert (clarinet) with piano accompanist, Royal Academy of Music scholar, solo and chamber recitalist for Leeds International Concert Season and at the BBC Proms, playing works by Clara Schumann, Stanford, Brahms, Bridge, Ireland and Elgar. Monday 12th September - Antonina Suhanova (piano), international performer and Guildhall School graduate originally from Latvia, playing works by Mozart, Brahms, Berg and Proko ev.
