A great team e ort from Fawley Falcons U14 this season sees them Southampton & District Tyro League Division 4 Champions, a er a tough couple of seasons, the team showed great resilience and sportsmanship to win their league. Manager Glyn Tribe said: This team has had a difficult couple of years. In 2020, whilst competing in Southampton and District Tyro League Division 2, we had to pull out due to players moving on and injury’s, leaving us unable to compete at that level. COVID made it virtually impossible to recruit and develop any new team members as all Grassroots Football was cancelled for months. The new players that have joined the existing team, most of which have been together since U7 have had to learn extremely quickly and in difficult circumstances, which has made what they achieved this season incredible. Myself, Shaun and Wade are extremely proud of every single one of them; they are a fantastic bunch of youth footballers who deserve the success they have achieved this season. SENIORS TRIPLE TROPHY DAY On a gloriously sunny yet o en chilly day, 44 New Forest Golf Club Seniors embarked on this trio of trophies stableford competition o the yellow tees. e course had dried out considerably allowing the ball to roll much further than some would have liked. e greens were fast and true. e Sages trophy for those aged between 70 and 79 was won by Hugh Marchant scoring 8 pars and a nal ourish birdie on the 18th. Terry Jones was hot on his heels, his 6 pars helping him to 42 points. e Onion Cup is for those under the age of 70. Chris Bennett emerged on top with 41 points having shot 8 pars, 2 points ahead of Phil Kilburn. e Stu ng Plaque for those 80 and over was won by Dave Cardy , a full 5 points ahead of his nearest rivals John Ireland and Alan Clark. Sages Trophy: 1st: Hugh Marchant 44 pts, 2nd: Terry On a gloriously sunny and cloud free day, 44 New Forest Golf Club Seniors competed in a Par Bogey format competition o the white tees for the Bill Murray Trophy. In Division 1, Steve Waterman fought o sti competition to lead with a score of +6. Meanwhile in Division 2, Ian Tyrrell played an amazing round ‘winning’ all of his rst nine holes to claim the Trophy with a nal score of +8.
