Gary Smith, Forest Electrical Services New Forest (East) Probus Club AGM e New Forest Probus Club held their AGM at the Dibden Golf Club on ursday 19th April. e retiring President, Ian, reported that the past year had been di cult, with COVID-19 problems precluding many activities, except for the odd Co ee morning. e Club had enjoyed a selection of interesting speakers, many were given via Zoom (Subjects included: Port of Southampton, Lepe Country Park developments and Birds of Hampshire). Membership has decreased, due to three deaths and retirements into the low 30’s. e Christmas lunch was much enjoyed by the members. e new Committee was agreed by the members with Henley as President, other committee positions were lled with the exception of Speaker’s Secretary. e existing Speaker’s Secretary agreed to continue until the year end. In his inaugural address, President Henley was concerned that the Club needs to increase its membership, and requested members, where possible, to recruit new members. Henley suggested members use his experience when he was successfully persuaded and employed to become a Vodka tester. is experience, he felt, would be useful in recruiting new members. e meeting concluded with an interesting illustrated talk by Ron Taylor, titled ‘Spice up your life’. Ron explained the meaning of many ‘E’ notes seen on most food products, some of which did not sound too attractive.
