Along with his friend Vanessa Small, Richard Hewett- Curl took on the 100km walk along the Jurassic Coast to raise £500 for Reach the Streets. Reach the Streets supports homeless people in the Waterside area and Southampton providing them with hot food and drinks and equipping people with warm clothes, bedding and toiletries. Hythe &Waterside Rotary would like to express their appreciation to the many sponsors for this event which included local businesses, hotels and restaurants. Hythe & Waterside Rotary held their Annual Charity Dinner, courtesy of Lord and Lady Montagu, in the historic Domus at Beaulieu again this year, with guest speaker Andrew Lancel. Andrew is a television and theatre actor, producer and director, best known for his appearances in TV series such as Cardiac Arrest, e Bill and Coronation Street. He entertained the audience with a talk about his work experiences on TV and stage. He is also an accomplished singer and in 2005 entered ‘Celebrity Stars in eir Eyes’ as Aha singer Morten Harket and won! Almost 90 people attended the event which started with of a glass of sparkling wine in Cellarers Hall on arrival, followed by a superb three- course dinner. A ra e and silent action were held, making the total raised that evening over £3,000. is money Fundraising with a Medieval touch Andrew Lancel and Hythe & Waterside Rotary President, Ray Lewis On a sunny Saturday North Baddesley held their annual Village Day returning a er a couple of years due to Covid restrictions. ere were many stalls for the large number of visitors that attended. e Romsey and Waterside Lions supported the event running their very popular keybox game. ere were several very happy winners of £5 where for a donation of only 40p there was the chance to “ OPEN THE KEYBOX ”! e Lions had lots of fun with their stall and also had a great time selling bric-a- NORTH BADDESLEY HOLD VILLAGE DAY brac, books, and toys. ey are looking forward to the next event in 2023!
