Both Damian and Graham are highly experienced members of the crew at Calshot, with Damian having joined in 2008 and Graham in 2012. e RNLI’s Lifeboat Trainer and Assessors have a vital role on station. RNLI volunteer crews across the UK and Ireland receive rst-class training in search and rescue, including navigation, boat handling skills, casualty care and communications. From the time new volunteers join the charity they are taught everything they need to know to help save lives at sea - and stay safe while doing so. Calshot Lifeboat Operations Manager Jane Banting said; “ We’ve previously had one LTA, who has been combining the role with his full time job as a Trainee Paramedic for the Ambulance Service. By tripling our capacity in this area, we can ensure that there are no Minstead Trust Totton supporter group are looking for new volunteers to join their dynamic and committed team. Based in e New Forest, Minstead Trust supports adults with learning disabilities. e Totton Supporter Group are looking for enthusiastic people to help them to raise awareness of the Minstead Trust in the local area, and speci cally Totton, where they already support many vulnerable adults to live more independent lives. For only a few hours a month, you could be part of a team that makes a real di erence to the lives of the people the Trust support. eir hope is that the group will run their own events and fundraisers, attend local fetes and fayres and look out for opportunities to raise awareness and funds to support the trust work. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 2.15pm to 4.40pm in the Main Hall at St Andrew’s Centre, Dibden Purlieu. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
