Based inMinstead, Furzey Gardens is hosting 29 nights of outdoor theatre across the summer, ranging from quirky interpretations of Shakespeare to humorous family shows. Guests can purchase refreshments at the thatched tea rooms and enjoy an idyllic evening in a tranquil New Forest setting. Tickets are now on sale priced from £14 for the performances, which include: • Lilies on the Land by e Lions Part from 6th to 9th July • Black Box eatre present: Bouncers from 21st to 23rd July • e ree Musketeers from 28th to 30th July • e Comedy of Errors from 14th August to 4th September . Lilies on the Land is based on 150 letters and interviews with original Land Girls, along with songs from the period, and is a revealing, funny and wonderfully moving portrait of some of Britain’s pluckiest unsung heroes. Set in 1984, John Godber’s classic comic drama, Bouncers, tells the story of a Northern nightclub and the colourful characters that inhabit its dance oor. e ree Musketeers is an hilarious show for all Outdoor performance at Furzey Gardens ages from Morgan and West. A fun for all the family retelling of Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale. e Comedy of Errors sees west end actors the London Touring Company return to Furzey a er a sell-out run last year. Shakespeare’s madcap comedy sees two pairs of identical twins inadvertently make forty cases of mistaken identity, driving the characters to distraction and the audience to tears of laughter. Furzey Gardens is run by local charity Minstead Trust and provides training and work experience for people with learning disabilities. Ticket income will help the charity to continue its important work supporting vulnerable people. e summer performance season is supported by Harvest Fine Foods. To mark the event they will be holding an open morning on Monday 27th June at St Andrew’s Centre in Dibden Purlieu from 10am to 12noon. Past members will be very welcome as will anyone interested in joining this friendly group. Examples of work will be on display. Waterside Quilters are a friendly group of patchworkers who meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 10am until 12.30pm at St Andrew’s Church, Dibden Purlieu. At the meetings they hand sew their own projects and have an optional monthly set project.
