On Friday 15th July at 7.30pm for Romsey Youth Choir Summer Concert. A wonderful evening of summer music from Romsey Youth Choir, Romsey Youth Chamber Choir and Romsey Youth Children’s Choir. On Saturday 16th July at 7.30pm for Southampton Concert Orchestra, who return to Romsey Abbey with a staggering programme of orchestral music. Lutosławski Symphonic Variations. In co-operation with the Wessex Glyndebourne Association, they welcome four singers and their pianist and together they will perform a selection of pieces from the Glyndebourne repertoire. Something of a gala occasion, many of our audience choose to arrive early and picnic on the church meadow before the concert. Tickets are £25 in advance only. On Saturday 16th July they are set to enjoy once again another favourite, e King’s Men. Former scholars from King’s College Cambridge will entertain with a programme of music from the middle ages to modern chart hits. With close harmony singing, and maybe an organ solo, the King’s Men are always a pleasure to hear. Tickets are £15, in advance from the address below or at the door, subject to availability. Music at Beaulieu concerts are held at Beaulieu Abbey Church and start at 7pm. Doors will open at 6.30pm. The Ampfield Market e Market is held on the first Saturday of the month (excluding January and August) in Amp eld Village Hall (SO51 9BJ), between 10am and 12noon. Parking and admission are free. e Market, established in 2000, has become a very popular meeting place, o ering the best value, most delicious refreshments in Hampshire! Every e ort is made to keep the sales tables lively and interesting. ere are top quality, locally sourced items for sale including cakes, biscuits, savoury foods, honey, fresh bread, eggs, plants, fruit and veg, cra s, books, cards, wrapping paper, jewellery and collectables. ey order their fruit and veg from a very reputable local supplier and endeavour to sell a good variety of fresh, seasonal produce every month. e Market generates £1,500 a year towards Village Hall funds. e Market team generously volunteer their time and baking skills to provide a delicious seasonal selection of cakes every month, which are served with co ee throughout the morning. e next market at Amp eld will take place on Saturday 2nd July , between 10am and 12noon. ey make every e ort to ensure that your visit is Covid-safe, but they would be grateful if you would please wear a mask for the safety of others. 2022 Market dates for your diary: , 3rd September, 1st October, 5th November and 3rd December . ey still have a waiting list, but if you would like to rent a table in the future or would just like more general information, then please contact Julie Trotter via: julie@ amp eld.org.uk e next New Forest Militaria Fair will be on Wednesday 6th July from 7pm to 9.30pm in the Colbury Church Rooms, Deerleap Lane, Colbury (near Ashurst) SO40 7EH. ere are stalls o ering a variety of militaria items, and these events are an ideal venue for dealers, collectors and enthusiasts to get together to buy, sell, swap, exhibit and talk about all aspects of militaria.
