Followed on Friday 9th September with speaker Catherine Beale for ‘Clouds—Watercolour’. Art on the Green: their Annual exhibition will be taking place from Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August on the Green at Milford. Visitors are very welcome and pay £3.50. For more details contact Membership Secretary Secretary Sandi Hills on: lags.sandi@gmail.com or: 01425 613569 Marchwood Village are continuing their Royal Celebrations into July with their Royal Jubilee Fete taking place on Saturday 2nd July at Lloyd Recreation Ground from 12noon to 4pm. Organised by the Marchwood Fete Steering Group, the Royal Jubilee Fete promises to be a fabulous family day out with a surprise VIP guest opening the Fete! To get everyone in the spirit on the day there will be a royal themed Fancy Dress Parade for the children so go along dressed in your nest royal costume and meet inside the main arena at 12pm. e competition will be judged by Marchwood’s own Prince and Princess and the VIP! Everyone who enters will receive some edible goodies, with special Jubilee prizes for the runners-up and grand winner – Smyths Toys vouchers for £10, £15 and £25! ere will also be a Fun Dog Show – so why not take along the four pawed members of your family to enjoy the day too! Entries are £1 per class per dog to enter with registration taking place on the day. Following the royal theme the mini arena will have classes for Most Fabulous Prince, Most Loveliest Queen, Most Waggiest Tail and Best Rescue Dog. Whilst in the main arena the Most Royal Dog – Best in Show will be crowned with an amazing prize of a hand painted portrait of your dog by a talented local artist! Planet Paws will be showcasing their dog agility displays, with opportunities for you to have a go with your own dog for just £1! e fun doesn’t stop there! ere will be performances and displays from the Jubilee Brass Band, Uke Box Glory, Jonathan the Jester and Circus Wessex, MB Twirlstars, Flare Gymnastics Club, Marchwood Rangers, Marchwood Youth Club, New Forest Martial Arts, Mini Athletics, New Forest and District Beekeepers Association and Waterside Wood Carvers. Plus the usual bouncy castles and fairground rides! A number of local schools, preschools and churches will be running stalls on the day with fun activities to join in and local businesses will be selling their wares including jewellery, candles, painted ornaments, handcra ed gi s and greeting cards. To keep you going for the whole a ernoon there will be a wide range of food and drink available, including Royal Jubilee Celebrations Continue in Marchwood pizzas, BBQs, sandwiches, donuts, crepes, wa es, cakes, co ees, teas, ice cream and fudge, all from local groups and businesses, including Marchwood’s very own WI and Scouts and Guides. Taking place on Sunday 10th July the Carnival procession will begin at 11am from Lymington Town Hall leading through the Town and arriving at the Fete in Lymington Sports Ground. e theme for the Carnival oats this year is ‘My Favourite Film/Movie’. Brockenhurst Music Society Brockenhurst Music Society concerts, given by young highly talented professional musicians will be held at St Saviour’s Church, Brockenhurst at 7.30 pm on the following dates: Monday 11th July - Mithras Trio , formed in 2017 at the Guildhall School, currently in the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists scheme and regular Radio 3 broadcasters, playing works by McDowall, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Monday 8th August - James Gilbert (clarinet) with piano accompanist, Royal Academy of Music scholar, solo and chamber recitalist for Leeds International Concert Season and at the BBC Proms, playing works by Clara Schumann, Stanford, Brahms, Bridge, Ireland and Elgar.
