Sponsor of the event, Peter Robertson from DEOS Group Limited, was the rst participant to sign up to the challenge and received his £100 from Lord Beaverbrook himself. e Beaverbrook Foundation has been funding the challenge – previously known as the £100 Challenge – since 2016 and has helped to raise over £50,000 for the Oakhaven Neighbours Project which provides crucial support to clients in their own homes. Corporate Fundraising Manager, Natalie Hutchins, said: “It is a real privilege to re-launch this challenge for our 30th Anniversary. It is a great way to engage local businesses with the hospice and raise funds for a service that is run entirely on voluntary income but provides such a crucial service to our clients in their own homes.” Neighbours Coordinator, Sara Thomas, said: “Oakhaven Neighbours is made up currently of 50 volunteers supporting around 54 patients a week. The thing that sets our Neighbours apart from many befriending organisations is that they are highly trained in specifically supporting people and their families living with life-limiting illness. As an ever-growing service we are supporting more people and therefore in constant need of more volunteers and being part of the Beaverbrook 30 for 30 Challenge allows us to do that.” For more information about how your business can get involved contact the Corporate Fundraising Manager on 01590 613 036 or email: business@ oakhavenhospice.co.uk Lord Beaverbrook (left) and Peter Robertson from DEOS Group Ltd (right) officially signing up as the first participant of the challenge by receiving his £100 BUSINESSES INVITED TO SHOWCASE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AT CITY EVENTS Businesses and organisations in the Solent region are invited to take part in Careers and Apprenticeship Shows, to show young people the jobs, training and apprenticeship opportunities they can o er. e event will take place in Southampton on 18th July .
