Help the Haven when Doing your Shopping MARDIS GRAS IN ROMSEY e streets were lined with spectators braving the heatwave on 16th July to watch the greatly anticipated return of the Romsey Carnival! is year’s theme was A Very British Jubilee Mardi Gras, with 18 entries in the procession including the infamous Romsey Old Cadets, Swan Samba Band and a Steam Engine! e winning entries were the Star Inn oat and the Romsey Rainbows. e carnival committee have worked extremely hard at making it a happy event and they were not The winning float The Carnival Princesses disappointed, there were happy smiling faces everywhere. Romsey Carnival has been a rm xture in the calendar for many decades and dates back to the early 1900’s! e last Carnival took place pre-pandemic in 2019. The event was opened by the delightful girls at the Chantelle’s School of Dancing, followed by the toe tapping Frontline Ukeleles. In the a ernoon Andrew sang and played on his keyboard and he had even written a song about the Healthy Haven Garden which they all sang to. anks to all the stall holders who went along and the Praizin’ Hands Puppets which the adults enjoyed as much as the children. anks to all the local businesses who donated ra e prizes and to the team of garden volunteers who did the ra e and refreshments on the day and got the garden looking nice for the Open Day despite the dry conditions. The Open Day was a great success. anks to everyone who went along and supported the garden. Chantelle’s School of Dancing opened the event Frontline Ukeleles entertained the visitors
