Nearly every member of BCG was represented with a total of 67 prints on show, plus an extra display of photos taken at the Platinum Jubilee events held in Beaulieu by Hilary Flaxman and Emma Port. eir new print stands, purchased with a grant from e Beaulieu Common Good Trust, looked splendid and really showed the prints to great e ect. e Fete was opened by e High Sheri of Hampshire, Lady Edwina Grosvenor. She was invited to select her favourite print from those on display and chose ‘Porcelain Fungi’ by Ian Hutchinson, commenting that it reminded her of walks in the New Forest. Ian was Maggie by Sue Grier. A big thank you to all the BCG members who were involved in setting up the display and packing everything away at the end, particularly Tony Darnell, Hilary Flaxman, Ian Hutchinson, Emma Port, Alan Price and Megan Stephenson. Lots of members visited the Fete during the a ernoon at what is always a great social occasion, they said it was lovely to meet new people and catch up with old friends. The Fete is a great showcase for Beaulieu Camera Group and certainly this year the quality of work on display was superb. The group meets at Beaulieu Primary School on the rst and third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. New members of all abilities are always welcome. Each year, e Bob Grier Trophy is awarded to the print which receives the most votes from the public at the Fete. is year’s recipient of the award was Maggie White with her image ‘A Leap at Lepe’ which was by far and away the winner. e trophy was presented to Romsey Country Markets will take place on Fridays 26th August, 9th and 23rd September in the Town Hall from 11am to 12.30pm and on Saturdays 27th August, 3rd and 24th September in the Cornmarket from 9am to 2.30pm. ey love to cook, cra and grow just for you, so go along for a great range of home produced items such as seasonal fruit, vegetables, cakes, preserves, plant and cra s.
