Run by the Oakhaven Corporate Fundraising team the event started with some open networking followed by an opportunity for the 17 attendees to introduce themselves. ey were then given a presentation by the event sponsor, Sarah Black from SB Business Support, on ‘the importance of connection and collaboration’. Corporate Fundraising Manager Natalie Hutchins comments: “I was so pleased with the turn out and we had some really positive feedback for our first event.” Businesses can become an annual member for £150 or can pay-as-yougo for £15 per person per session. All the networking events are due to take place at e Coates Centre within the grounds of the Hospice and include light refreshments. e next event is due to take place on Thursday 8th September in collaboration with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and e New Forest Business Partnership. Long Standing Oakhaven Hospice Corporate Partner Joins Business Challenge Colten Care who have been supporting Oakhaven Hospice for over 20 years have recently signed up to the Beaverbrook 30 for 30 challenge. Colten Care which has homes across the New Forest, including Belmore Lodge and Court Lodge which are within walking distance of the Lymington based Hospice. ese two establishments will be taking on the challenge of turning £100 into £1,000 by the end of March 2023 through various fundraising opportunities with the support of their fellow homes across the New Forest where possible. Other local business CJDI Electrical and the Hardley Runners group based on the Waterside have also recently signed up bringing the total number of participants in the challenge to 10 which is a third of the way to reaching their target of 30 businesses who they hope will raise £30,000 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Oakhaven Hospice. Elaine Sheppard, Head of Customer Support at Colten Care, said “Having supported Oakhaven Hospice for over 20 years, we were more than happy to accept the invitation to join the ‘Beaverbrook 30 for 30 Challenge’.
