CLASSIC CAR CLUB – ‘COOKING UP A TASTY TIME’ The Southampton and New Forest Group of the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club On ursday 14th July, the club had its summer social evening with a BBQ. As members had a variety of dietary requirements they all brought their own food. Two BBQs were supplied by the chair and the vice chair. One BBQ was reserved for gluten free food. It was nice that partners of members could join in and meet each other, some for the rst time. Members said they enjoyed the evening and felt it was a success as a new item on the events calendar. Some members came in their classic vehicles as it was a good excuse to drive and enjoy them. The Southampton and New Forest Group of the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club are continuing to invite potential new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting those enthusiasts who appreciate them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. Members enjoy a friendly, social atmosphere at the monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e. ere are lm nights, quizzes, speakers on various topics and club drive days. Some members have other makes of classic vehicles such as Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley, Triumph and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the range of vehicle manufacturers to complement their Austin A30/35 models. Featured in the photograph is the stand of the Austin Motor Spares Service Ltd at the Beaulieu Spring Auto Jumble which was on the 14th and 15th May 2022. e weather was changeable so the marquee was invaluable for customers and those working on the stand. Parts are dispatched as far as Australia, Greece, Germany and France. e most popular parts ordered are small items e.g. bumper bolts, hinge kits, rubber seals and large items such as body panels. e company also has parts fabricated for them. 2003 was the rst year the parts company exhibited on a national level at Beaulieu. e club owns Austin Motor Spares Service Ltd which holds in stock a large quantity of highly valued items to support customers’ needs. New, used and reconditioned parts are sold by Robert and Rick Prinn who are able to o er comprehensive advice and help. e August meeting was on the 11th. The September meeting is on the 8th with a theme of, ‘Do you remember these items?’ Meetings take place on the second ursday of each month, starting 7.30pm, at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Rd, SO40 7GH.
