In the end a distance of 2,431 miles was achieved – almost six times as far as the target; meaning £2,431 was raised during Mental Health Awareness Month. Further donations from the individuals taking part increased the amount given to £2,715. Chris Chown, Managing Director, said: “Mental health is something everyone has and we all want it to be better rather than poorer. Mind is a charity that does fantastic work in helping those who are suffering and also raises awareness. Our donation we hope will help Mind, but the process also showed our staff the benefit of good mental health. Furthermore, exercise is known to improve mental health and those taking part exchanged pics and experiences in a WhatsApp group. We had staff from across our branches getting involved and the feedback was extremely positive. Once, mental health was a taboo subject but now it is very much a focus of all good employers.” e charity Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
