Why does this small regional airliner have four engines and what is the connection with Germany’s WW2 jet ghter, the Messerschmitt 262. Two 146’s were evaluated for their suitability to replace the RAF Andovers of e Queens Flight and ultimately the aircraft became a popular regional airliner, especially in the USA, leading to nearly 400 builds. However, there were many bumps along the way and although its successor was abandoned the type lives on in new roles. Authentic French Market Back in Hythe France at Home will once again be bringing France to Hythe with their Authentic French Market on Saturday 29th October 9am until 5pm. ere will be a co ee morning on Saturday 29th October from 9.30am to 12pm in St John’s Hall in Hythe in aid of e Children’s Society. As well as the usual refreshments there will be a cake stall, a wide variety of greetings cards, a bring and buy and, of course, a ra e. is charity like many others has su ered an income loss due to covid but has continued its work with young people in this country. STEAL AWAY is actually the title of the next concert to be performed by Southampton Choral Society and as usual a minibus from Hythe is being arranged to make it easy for people from the Waterside to attend. e concert takes place on Saturday 29th October at 7.30pm in the very pleasant surroundings of ornden Hall in Chandlers Ford where you can hear the choir sing John Rutter’s lovely arrangements of spirituals and also Henry Purcell’s Come Ye Sons of Art.
