Oakhaven would like to invite every member of the community to join them as they take the time to re ect on times spent with those we have lost. In December each year, Oakhaven Hospice holds their Light up a Life service of remembrance and thanksgiving for those who are no longer with us. is year Oakhaven will be hosting several services. On Monday 12th December in Lymington at St omas’s church there will be a service at 3pm and 6pm and on Tuesday 13th December Oakhaven will hold their rst ever Light Up a Life Service at St John the Baptist Church in Hythe. You do not have to have lost someone who was cared for at the Hospice to make a dedication; Light up a Life is an opportunity for everyone in the community to come together to remember their loved ones and celebrate their lives. All dedications received before Friday 18th November will feature in the commemorative service programme. Blackfield Messy Church e Christmas session of Black eld Messy Church will take place on Saturday 26th November at 2pm at Black eld Baptist Church, Hampton Lane, Black eld. All families with children of any ages are invited to go along and share with them about the story of Christmas, and why Jesus came to earth. Christmas cra s and refreshments will be available to all, free of charge. Please do go and celebrate with them. Parents please stay with your children, and enjoy the fun. is is run by a collaboration of churches from the Black eld and Fawley area. Blackfield Messy Church TABLE TOP SALES Every 2 weeks on a Tuesday morning from 9.30am to 12noon there’s a great Table Top Sale at Cornerstone Hythe URC in New Road. ere is always a great selection of Electricals, Jewellery, Collectables, Kitchenware, Glassware, Bags, Toys, Puzzles, Brica-brac and an extensive library of Paperback Books, CDs, and DVDs. All proceeds go to the Cornerstone Outreach Fund supporting mission and outreach locally, in the UK and overseas. e next sale will take place on Tuesday 8th November. Co ee, tea, and biscuits are always available in the Foyer too! Woolly Angels Every year St John’s Church in Hythe like to inform the local community of their church service times in the most angelic of ways. At the beginning of December the church give away little hand cra ed angel keepsakes along with their Christmas service times attached. Last year the church gave away 750 angels and is hoping to top that number this year. ey are calling for anyone who enjoys knitting, crocheting or sewing to get involved. If you are able to help you can pick up a pattern from either St John’s Church or the Herald O ce. Alternatively they are grateful to receive any donations of wool. e Parish of St. John the Baptist and St. Anne in Hythe are happy to be holding their Messy Church sessions again, including cra s, games, stories and food. Messy Church will take place at St Anne’s Church on the first Friday of the month and at St John’s Hall on the last Friday of the month. Messy Church in Hythe Bereavement Café e bereavement café o ers a space where people can talk about the pain of loss and also nd strength and courage in knowing that they are not alone. It takes place on the 2nd Monday of each month from 1.30pm until 3pm. is drop in café is not designed to be a counselling session. It is a supportive environment for re ection and conversation; a place where people will be able to nd mutual support and encouragement when they need it most.
