A number of ladies came to watch and socialise, which is what our Flower Club is all about! Mo as always gave us a lovely simple demonstration of how to do several autumn arrangements using items foraged from our gardens, Forest, ower shops or supermarkets: to make a display bespoke to our homes for enjoyment. e rst was twigs (adorned in lichen), bound with orist wire and made into a triangle. She then made a moss ball: moss from her garden, again bound tightly with orist wire and attached to the triangle with wire. She used the straight lengths of orist wire to attach bits of conifer, baby spider plants on their stalk, crab apples, hydrangea heads and r cones to the moss ball. Perfect for a Halloween/Autumn door hanging. Mo then had a black container that she arranged, using a pin holder, a bunch of foraged twigs, black/ purple Dracaena leaves and 3 mauve, with white edged spray chrysanthemum. A stunning, simple, moody autumn arrangement. Marion had used a glass spaghetti jar, lled with r cones, acorns and big seed heads as mechanics. She used contorted willow, licheni ed twigs, Chinese It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our longstanding member, Ina Mansell. Her ower friends are meeting on 27th October at 2 pm to reminisce over a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Anyone who knew Ina is very welcome. Next meetings are: 3rd November - Rosemary Legrande ‘Spring in Japan’ and 1st December - Demonstration - Martina Coleman ‘Strictly Flowers’.
