A orist since 1981, he is a very experienced and entertaining Area Demonstrator. As well as an enthusiastic competitor at Area and National Shows, Robin has been a member of the National Horticultural team at both Chelsea and Hampton Court gaining many gold medals. He is also a keen and knowledgeable gardener. Five designs were demonstrated, each one quite amazing. Number one was traditional in white and green featuring Asiatic Lillies, white Roses from Ecuador and Lizianthus. ey learnt that Lizianthus can be grown from seed for greenhouse and conservatory, although Robin had planted some in pots for the garden patio . A large horizontal design was next in shades of peach and gold. A really pretty mix of Asiatic Lillies, Gerbera, double Roses and Carnations. Plenty of greenery including Palm leaves, Fatsia, Papyrus and black Pittosporum. With a metal frame, Palm leaves, so Ruscus and Choisya set o yellow Antirrhinum, Pin Cushion Protea, yellow Roses and gold Carnations. A striking design. ey had a very exotic shape in a square metal frame of Palms, Fatsia, Bells of Ireland, Germany (called Kermit) and Carnations. e Palm leaves were clipped to a geometric shape. e nale was truly spectacular. One large and two smaller versions of the same design including purple Gladioli, pink Germini, Roses, Anthurium, red Carnations and lots of greenery, on a frame the two small designs were turned upside down and the larger sat on top. An amazing sight which brought gasps from the Club members. What a talented, amusing and clever man Robin is, they so enjoyed watching and listening to him.
