Two local businesses Velair EHD and KatherineB Work & Wellbeing committed to the challenge in September which aims to get 30 businesses turning £100 into £1,000 and raising £30,000 for Oakhaven Hospice in the year of its 30th Anniversary. Both organisations are new supporters to Oakhaven Hospice, enticed by the idea of having seed money to kickstart their fundraising ideas. KatherineB Work & Wellbeing is already in the process of setting up workshops at e Coates Centre in the grounds of the Hospice to support women with their con dence and style in the workplace. Head of Department at Velair EHD, Katie Furniss said: “We are thrilled to take part in the Beaverbrook 30 for 30 challenge, where we hope to raise as much money as possible for such a great cause. Test Valley Borough Council and Southampton City Council were among 250 councils in England who entered the inaugural Local Government awards run by Britain’s biggest business representation group, and they emerged triumphant in the ‘All Round Business Friendly’ and ‘Future Ready’ categories. Test Valley Borough Council walked away with the award for the most ‘All Round Small Business Friendly’ council in the central South area, and Southampton City Council most ‘Future Ready’ council in the central South.  e central South region includes councils from across Hampshire, Isle of Wight and ames Valley.
