BLACKFIELD FLOWER CLUB Alison Finch, Area Demonstrator from Blandford Forum was welcomed to the October meeting with a demonstration entitled ‘What a Sweety’. e rst design featured Cadbury Flake. Birch twigs had been xed together to make a rectangular container. Wet moss layered with ne chickenwirewas used instead of foam. Rubus, bergenia, fatshedera and fern provided the outline. Lilac roses, purple trachelium and purple clematis were then inserted together with tiny bunches of birch twigs to represent the akes. e Bounty Bar was the choice for this design. A large container made by Alison resembled a coconut. Phoenix palm leaves and folded aspidistra leaves were inserted. White germinis and white Singapore orchids were included together with dried lotus seed heads. A second smaller arrangement completed this design. A fun design featuring liquorice allsorts came next. e sweets had been made from old pieces of Oasis and covered in the colours of the allsorts and had been xed with wires to a large square black frame. White germinis were inserted into the test tubes and a bunch of owers accompanied this design. A wreath ring was used for this design to interpret Love hearts. e outside of the ring fatsia leaves, phormium and box provided the outline. A beautiful gold orchid together with orange pin head proteas, orange calla lilies, dried gold stems, craspedia and a large dried allium were inserted. A second smaller arrangement completed this stunning design.
