An evening for celebrating the years triumphs and cementing friendships. e wine owed, the food was enjoyed and a er the many cups and trophies were presented the draw was made for the following days golf. An early tee time on a bright sunny morning is always a good time to ponder whether that extra glass of wine the previous evening was a good idea, but that was no problem for the winners Elaine Thomas and Pam Colmer who scored a terri c 40 points. It was a very close competition and the rst three places were only decided on countback. In second place came Helena Troupe and Gloria Gordon and in third place were J Renyard and Caroline Beech. e dinner cup competition was also held on the 9 hole short course and a late entrant took the prize. Captain Lynn Dunkason stepped in at the last minute to partner Cilla Woodason, which turned out to be a winning combination. Division 3: Winner C Beech 74, 2nd G Gordon 76, 3rd E Smith 83. 9 Hole short course monthly medal: Winner: R Bentley 16, 2nd L Moore 15, 3rd M Webb 12. 11th October the DOGS played a Union Jack Competition (red, white & blue tee blocks) as an individual stableford format, players braved the chilly morning conditions. e winner: B Dash (36) 2nd S Lawson (34 C/B) 3rd J Crumpler (34 C/B) 4th S Hawkes (33 C/B) 5th B Baker (33 C/B). Nearest the pin winners: L Cohen (4th) C Peall (11th). Pro’s approach (15th): P Wastell. 2’s Competition winners: D Webster and C Peall. Congratulations to Brian Dash, winner with 36 points leaving all those youngsters behind. 18th October the DOGS played an Irish Rumble, format of a 3 man team stableford competition. Star of the week: congratulations to Tony O’connor: winning team member, nearest the pin winner (11th hole) and with the highest stableford score of 40 points. 25th October the DOGS played an 18 hole 3 man stableford yellow peril. e winning team: N Dixon, A Hare & A Turnpenny (84) 2nd M Eve, S Lawson & D Thorpe. 3rd D Webster, P Huxley & R Short. Highest stableford score with 37 Points: Ian Cameron. e DOGS recently had a Wonderful Pink Day with the members wearing pink for the day and donating to a collection to raise money for Cancer Research. A magni cent grand total of £320 was raised on the day - well done to all members. Monday 10th October started overcast and raining as thirty two Bramshott Seniors took to the course for a fun Medford game. In a Medford game each player scores his medal score less half of his handicap on the front nine holes, then takes his Stableford score achieved on the back nine holes from the result, giving an overall net score. It sounds complicated but as their handicap secretary John Annetts will tell you (in no uncertain terms) it is very simple. Happily the weather soon brightened up and the game was played in very favourable conditions. Good scores were returned and the results were as follows: Scores: H/Cap Index (H), Medal F9 (M), S/ford B9 (S), Total (T) Division One: 1st Barry Walker 24.6 (H) 36 (M) 22 (S) 14 (T), 2nd Graham Blofield 23 (H) 39 (M) 24 (S) 15 (T), 3rd Henry Porter 23.5 (H) 37 (M) 22 (S) 15 (T); Division Two: 1st Dave Wilson 32 (H) 29 (M) 25 (S) 4 (T), 2nd Jeff Andrews 38.6 (H) 36 (M) 26 (S) 10 (T), 3rd Hugh Rowan 35.5 (H) 38 (M) 25 (S) 13 (T). eir inter club matches for 2022 have now been completed and they are pleased to report that Bramshott Hill Seniors, led by their captain Stuart Bulbrooke, achieved a very successful season. ey played 20 matches in all consisting of home and away legs. Bramshott Seniors won 14, drew 2 and lost 4 matches. e aggregate score for home and away was: won 9 and drew 1. ey look forward to next season in anticipation of retaining their successful form under next year’s captain, Mike Wells. Bramshott Hill Seniors intended to play a Medal quali er on Monday 24th October. However, a er some heavy rain over the weekend and also on Sunday night the competition was down graded to a Stableford nonquali er, and as many of the Bunkers were ooded they were treated as Ground Under Repair and therefore any ball in a Bunker was entitled to a free drop outside of the Bunker. is did not deter the Bramshott Seniors and 35 players took part in the competition. Once again and as expected with no Bunkers in play some good scores were returned. e results were as follows: Division 1: 1st Mark Eve 40pts, 2nd Trelford Douglas 38pts (countback), 3rd Paul Wastell 38pts; Division 2: 1st Barry Walker 37pts (countback), 2nd Mike Newland 37pts, 3rd Ed Piggin 36pts; Division 3: 1st Dave Wilson 40pts, 2nd Jeff Andrews 36pts, 3rd Ed Moseley 34pts. Division 1: 1st Alan Clifford 63 nett (30 back 9), 2nd Brian Roberts 65 nett (32 back 9, 19 back 6). 3rd Mike Broom 65 nett (32 back 9, 23 back 6). Division 2: 1st Charlie Hughes 63 nett (28 back 9), 2nd Mike Ahearn 63 nett (29 back 9), 3rd Mike Wharton 65 nett.
