Last year, for Honeypot’s 25th anniversary, the local community came out in strength to support the Christmas matched funding appeal. By rallying round so magni cently, the Hampshire community raised the substantial funds that enabled Honeypot to welcome more disadvantaged young children onto much loved residential respite and learning breaks at their beautiful house near Black eld. Donations also provided more well-being grants to pay for essential life items the children lacked. Community groups, schools and individuals donated especially generously to create an all-weather swimming pool, which the children are so excited about. e fun young carers have in their own swimming pool, always ranks top of things mentioned by young carers. and having a break from school, young carers will be at home cooking, cleaning, and looking a er loved ones. Honeypot wants this Christmas and the year ahead to be a special one for young carers, lled with happy memories. is is why from the 29th November to the 6th December Honeypot is launching its Christmas appeal. Honeypot is thrilled to report that a group of generous donors have agreed to match all donations made to the Christmas appeal, which will double individual donations at no extra cost to the donor. Since raising the funds Honeypot has gained planning permission from the New Forest, contracted architects, and commissioned architectural plans. Honeypot is currently reviewing the tenders it has sourced from specialist building rms to carry out the work on this exciting all-weather pool project! e allweather swimming pool would not have been possible without the generosity of the Hampshire community. Currently, the demand for Honeypot’s services has never been higher and the cost-of-living crisis will make this Christmas even harder for young carers. at’s why Honeypot will be launching its Christmas Appeal, called Putting the Fun Back into Christmas for Young Carers.
