Tops Fawley sent invitations out to encourage volunteers to join the nursery to participate and Dr Julian Lewis MP and his wife Fiona, were more than happy to support the event by reading stories to the children at Tops Fawley. Julian and Fiona read ‘ e Gru alos Child’, one of the children’s favourites. e Pre-Schoolers showed such joy as they listened to Julian and Fiona read and did a great job at helping to tell the story and make noises/ copy words when challenged! Kirstie Malyon, Nursery Manager said: “It was great to have the local MP supporting us during Children Books Week and helping us to spread the importance of reading to children”. Dr Julian Lewis MP and wife Fiona Reading to Children at Tops Fawley Nursery Reading at Early Years level is crucial for the development of young children. It is part of everyday life at Tops Day Nurseries and many of the staff have recorded themselves reading a story to share at bedtime with children. Tops Day Nurseries took part in Children’s Book Week in order to raise awareness of the importance of reading, provide opportunities for their children to read and be read to. Tops created their lending library to allow parents and children access to books and other reading materials that they may not have previously been able to access. Tops Fawley are part of a nursery chain that provides the most eco-sustainable Early Education and Care in the UK.
