Members had been raising money during the last twelve months for the Hospice in memory of Mavis Stote who was one of the founder members of Hythe Wives. Jill gave a very informative talk and o ered her sincere thanks to everyone for their successful fund raising. Friday 16th December is the Christmas Tea and the rst meeting of 2023 on Friday 6th January will be a social a ernoon with a music quiz by Arthur Prowse. Jill West from Oakhaven Hospice receiving a cheque for £670 from Lesley Arnold, Chairlady of Hythe Wives Wessex Heartbeat will be bringing Light Up a Heart to St Saviour’s Church in Brockenhurst on Wednesday 14th December, offering a memorable evening of music, celebration and re ection in the stunning surroundings of the 132-year-old church. With festive entertainment from the 50-strong choir Sing Now, guests will be encouraged to join in with some of the world’s most loved Christmas hymns and songs, before being invited to dedicate a ‘Heart’, with a message to a loved one. Each heart will then be hung on the Christmas Tree. e evening will end with festive refreshments, with the opportunity to socialise and re ect on this special evening. Tickets cost £5 and children under 14 are free. All proceeds will go towards Wessex Heartbeat.
