Unbeknown to the festival committee a reporter from South Today was in the audience last year supporting a family member performing and was blown away (his words) with the whole event. He was so impressed by the quality, variety of theatre and the whole ambience of the festival he was keen to share the event in the local news hence their brief moment of fame and they have promised to return. Groups from across the south took part in the Stage One of the All England eatre One Act Drama Festival. “The camaraderie and buzz in the auditorium and backstage throughout the week were confirmation that the festival is a true celebration of community theatre, and I do hope you will invite me back”, were adjudicator Jan Palmer Sayer’s words at the end of the nal evening. Two plays went through to the next round, both from Salisbury. Starcast Drama Company with ‘Too Much Light Makes e Baby Go Blind’ by Greg Allen were the winners and close runners up were Studio eatre with ‘English For Pony Lovers’ by John Finnemore. Everyone enjoyed the day and went home with their creations. Support was also given to Susan omas from County Lones who has been fortunate enough to be selected for a Region Topaz trip. Topaz is “Trefoil Overseas Partnership: Adventure with Zest”, and her trip is going to ailand, where the group will carry out a community project whilst they are there. Individual Guilds celebrated World inking Day in their own way, always featuring food and activities from around the world and one Guild helped out at the Guiding event where they linked up through amateur radio. game of Bingo in addition we also meet on Zoom to complete this year’s challenge entitled WOW, “Wellbeing Our Way”. e challenge will run through 2023 and into 2024 and it is helpful meeting on Zoom to discuss and have talks and discussions to steer us through the challenge. Newcomers are welcome, Guilds are in many areas, otherwise we have a County Guild called Lones who meet four times a year for members not able to participate on a regular basis. Details can be found through the Trefoil Guild website, otherwise if you are a group of six friends you could start your own Guild with the support of the Trefoil.
