You’ll need photo ID to vote in: • UK Parliament by-elections • Local elections in England (including councils, mayors, and parishes) • Recall of MP petitions • Police and Crime Commissioner elections • Neighbourhood planning referendums and Business Improvement District referendums • Local authority referendums (including Council Tax increase referendums) You’ll need one of the following types of photo ID to vote: • a UK or Northern Ireland photocard driving licence (full or provisional) • a driving licence issued by the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the Isle of Man or any of the Channel Islands • a UK Passport • a Passport issued by the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or a Commonwealth country • a PASS card (National Proof of Age Standards Scheme) • a Blue Badge • a biometric residence permit (BRP) • a Defence Identity Card (MOD form 90) • a National Identity Card issued by the EU, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein • a Northern Ireland Electoral Identity Card • a Voter Authority Certi cate • an Anonymous Elector’s Document You can also use one of the following travel passes as photo ID when you vote: • an Older Person’s Bus Pass • a Disabled Person’s Bus Pass • an Oyster 60+ card • a Freedom Pass • a Scottish National Entitlement Card (NEC) • a 60 and Over Welsh Concessionary Travel Card • a Disabled Person’s Welsh Concessionary Travel Card • a Northern Ireland concessionary travel pass e photo on your ID must look like you. You can still use your ID even if it has expired. If you do not hold one of the above forms of photo ID you can apply for a Photo ID Voter Authority Certificate via: gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voterauthority-certi cate From October 2023 it will also apply to UK General elections. PHOTO ID YOU’LL NEED TO VOTE Wessex Cancer Trust is asking people to turn their steps into support this June by taking part in its virtual Walk for Hope. For its sixth annual walking event, the charity is inviting participants to choose their own route, date and distance and ask friends and family to sponsor their steps and raise money to support local people a ected by cancer. When you sign up, you’ll get some recommended routes if you need inspiration, fundraising tips and walking guides. You’ll also get a medal once you’ve achieved your steps. Tickets are £15 for an adult and £10 for under 16s, and there’s a fundraising target of £100. For more information and to sign up, visit: www.wessexcancer.org.uk/ event/walk-for-hope-2023 TURN YOUR STEPS INTO SUPPORT AT WALK FOR HOPE Walk for Hope OUT AND ABOUT WITH THE RSPB e New Forest local group of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is holding an indoor meeting on Wednesday 10th May, for Wildlife photographer David Boag’s talk about ‘Birds of Sea and Shore’ including waders, ducks, geese, gulls, skuas, auks and terns. Meetings start at 7.30pm and are held in the Lyndhurst Community Centre, central car park, High Street, Lyndhurst SO43 7NY (doors open at 7.00pm). A eld trip is taking place on Thursday 27th April, 10am to 1pm at Franchises Lodge (SU 228 166), near Nomansland on the northern edge of the New Forest. Meet in the reserve’s Telegraph Hill hard-standing car park. On Tuesday 9th May is another eld trip, 10am to 1pm at Pig Bush (SU 362 050). Meet in the Pig Bush car park on the B3056 between Beaulieu and Lyndhurst.
