e rst weekend in May will see many street parties across the area and local youth charity, No Limits, has published a pack to help people plan their events and raise much-needed funds to support vulnerable young people at the same time. No Limits is celebrating 30 years in Southampton this June and demand for the service is greater than ever. In the last 12 months the charity has supported 8,110 young people, over half of them with their emotional wellbeing. Young people are facing increasingly complex lives and No Limits can help with housing, budgeting, bene ts, mental health and much more. e charity makes a huge di erence to the lives of local young people, with many young people coming to them at breaking point. ey o en pay testimony to the youth workers who go above and beyond to help them: “When I was at my lowest – homeless and drug dependent – No Limits’ Advice Centre became my home, and the youth workers were like a family to me. Whatever my issue, they went out of their way to help me sort it – I’d never had support like it before.” Lesley Bestwick, Fundraising Manager at No Limits, thinks this is a perfect opportunity for communities to come together to help vulnerable young people who may well live very near to them: “It’s wonderful that so many people will be joining with their neighbours to celebrate the Coronation. As we celebrate our 30th birthday, it would be especially brilliant if people could turn their street parties into a little bit of a fundraiser for No Limits as well, partying with their community, while raising money to give vital support to the young people around them.” Further details and the Street Party Pack can be downloaded from: www.nolimitshelp. org.uk Page 38 • The HERALD • 20th April 2023 v GET OUT & ABOUT WITH THE HERALD v Local Celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III THE KING’S CORONATION AT FAWLEY Crowning Glory in Dibden Purlieu Saturday 6th May is the historic Coronation of King Charles III and Fawley Parish Council will be hosting a day for all the family at Gang Warily Recreation Centre, Newland Road, Fawley. e Coronation coverage will be live streamed on a big outdoor screen so you can enjoy it in the company of others.
