The plaque will be placed on the wall in the imaging department and reads – ‘The John Carr Imaging Suite’. John Carr, has been Chairman of Hythe Hospital League of Friends for many years. He has been instrumental along with other members of the League in organising many, if not all the existing clinics and services would transfer to the new hospital with additional ones as required. e group also helped to design the war memorial and decide what stone would be used. e decision was made with the help of a local British Legion representative. e Stakeholders looked over the design of the building, making suggestions of changes where necessary. John led this group helping to make many di cult and timeconsuming decisions and choices, to ensure that the voice of local people would be respected. e award was well deserved. A er the plaque was presented, a celebration cake was cut by John to mark the event and photographs were taken. Sir Julian Lewis MP presenting the plaque to John Carr John Carr cutting the celebration cake fund-raising events, liaising with sta in the hospital regarding any equipment that the League could provide and the day to day running of the Leagues voluntary activities. In 2010 John also undertook the role of Chairman of the Hospital Project Stakeholder Group, initiated by South West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group. e group included representatives from the local community including councillors, past and present, retired sta , a British Legion representative, and a GP. e group worked tirelessly with the Clinical Commissioning Group to ensure that the new hospital was built and that the services hosted there were those required by local people. e aim was to ensure that as Hampshire Search and Rescue Reaches 1000 Callouts Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) responded to a call from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to look for a missing person on the evening of 25th March, marking their 1000th Callout. Formed in 2003, the allvolunteer charity who search for vulnerable and at-risk missing people on behalf of the police, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary this year. For the Charity the 1000th calloutmilestone has o ered a time for reflection, thinking about those they have tried to help over the years and their families, as well as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of their trained volunteers, past and present, and the support given by their families. e forthcoming 20th Anniversary will be a time for re ection and a time to plan and build upon their achievements to continue to support the Community.
