On Friday 5thMay at our ‘Arts & Cra s’ group, we will be heralding Coronation Day by celebrating with Coronationthemed activities. A couple of weeks later it is the annual Alzheimer Society’s ‘Dementia Action Week’ and to start the week we are delighted to be hosting a FREE production of ‘Roots and Branches’ from the ‘ eatre of Life’ (www.theatreforlife. co.uk). ere will be reminiscence theatre and singing followed by a short workshop to discuss the production. Light refreshments will be available a er the workshop for a donation. e production will take place on Monday 15th May at Abbotswood Community Centre, Romsey SO51 0BX. It starts at 11am, but please arrive by 10.45am. e ‘ eatre of Life’, supported by National Lottery Community Funding, have helped Greenbuttercup Dementia Services put on this production free of charge. However, we do require you to pre-book via email: greenbuttercupdement iaservices@ gmail.com or call: 01794 501605 as we need to know numbers. is event is open to anyone with a Dementia or memory problems plus their relatives/ carers. Transport may be available from Romsey to and from Abbotswood, so please ask about this if it’s needed. To nish o the month, Greenbuttercup Dementia Services will be welcoming some of the cast of ‘Buddy’ to sing songs from their upcoming show about Buddy Holly at the May ower. is will take place on Friday 26th May in place of the usual ‘singing group’. A er this performance, the singing group will take a break for the summer, and restart in September. Greenbuttercup’s regular activity groups are held from 10.30am - 12.30pm in the Green Room, Plaza eatre, Romsey, SO51 8JA. A £3 charge per person covers all activities and tea/co ee — rst ‘Arts & Cra s’ session is free. On Friday 21st April the reminiscence activity will be a Memories, Tea and Me session about Royalty. On Friday 28th April will be the last Singing session with Traci until the Autumn. With their small team of volunteers they support and help to enable and maintain independence.
