Milo, 6, and his sister Sophia, 8, organised the fundraiser because their ‘Bubba’ (Grandfather), David Whately-Smith, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s four years ago. 50 children aged 6-10 took part in the football tournament at Walhampton School, where Sophia also had a stand selling sweets and drinks. Milo said: “I asked my teacher if I could organise a football match to raise money for Parkinson’s to help my Bubba because he falls over and to help my mummy because she worries about him so much.” Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. It a ects around 145,000 people in the UK and every hour two more people are diagnosed. Parkinson’s UK is here for everyone a ected by the condition.
