Lee Davies, the Vicar of St. John the Baptist Church in Hythe, gave them an inspirational talk called ‘Toilets for Toilets’. Twinning with people and villages who have no sanitation the installation of water and latrines have transformed their lives. eir next meeting is on Wednesday 10th May when Julia Baker will tell them about the Minstead Trust. All their meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at Dibden Golf Club from 10.30am. Co ee is followed by a short business meeting, a speaker and a two course lunch. e meetings normally end at approximately 1.30pm. GAMES AFTERNOON Hythe & District Historians Hythe and District Historians are meeting on Thursday 11thMay for a talk given by Nick Gri ths, titled ‘ e Medieval Parish Church’. It is followed on 1st June with ‘Pubs and Publicans’ by Kay Lovell. Both meetings start at 7.45pm at the Hythe and Dibden Community Centre. Waterside Heritage have an Open Day on Monday 1st May from 10am to 4pm at the Waterside Heritage Centre - the Old Railway station in Dominy Close o Shore road in Hythe. Refreshments will be available. If you are interested in the history of the area go along and view the archives and extensive photograph collection. Surplus books will be available to buy and Waterside Heritage’s own publications. THE LONG GAME Following an aborted attempt to perform this show back in May 2020 for obvious reasons Copythorne Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS) are very pleased to announce that their production of ‘ e Long Game’ by Julie Wilson will nally go ahead for three performances running on Saturdays 13th and 20th May this year. Marina returns from an extended absence with a new husband much to the surprise of her friends but is all as rst appears? Go and enjoy a mystery play for the evening. CATS are also very happy to hear from all who are interested to join either on stage or back stage and are a friendly group who enjoy active social get together too. Go and see the performance and see if this might be a new hobby for you or just enjoy a good a ernoon or evening out. ART IN LYMINGTON Plant Sale in Holbury e Waterside Catholic Parish will be holding their annual Plant Sale and Spring Fair on Saturday 13th May from 10am to 12noon at St Bernard’s Church Hall, Holbury. ere will be plants for sale together with many other stalls, such as jigsaws, puzzles, books, tombola, cra , bric-a-brac and much more.
