Member numbers were down from the pre-Covid times but all agreed the club was going forward in the right manner. A er questions and answers they had a most enjoyable talk on Furzey Gardens near Minstead. Set up to train young adults with learning di culties the slides showed them how capable these young people became. ey had opportunities to purchase plants and wooden troughs and implements. It was agreed by those who had never visited that the grounds looked beautiful with lots of trees and shrubs. eir next meeting is Thursday 11th May when Gill Homer demonstrates ‘Creative Containers’ June is entitled ‘Dabbling in Daydreams’ and July ‘Reuse and Recycle’. ey meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month except August at Hythe and Dibden Parish Hall, West Street, Hythe. 6.45pm for 7.30pm. One years membership is £36 (for 11 meetings). Good value for an evenings entertainment (probably less than a cup of co ee). Members went along to the April meeting to create buttonholes and bows. Non Young who is a member but has a oristry background had volunteered to show members how to wire the leaves and owers. Flowers were provided including orchids, roses and carnations plus ivy leaves and other small leaves. Members set to work creating their buttonholes and Blackfield Flower Club GRASSES TO ENJOY IN YOUR GARDEN Woodlands Gardening Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings start at 7.30pm at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Road, Netley Marsh. On Saturday 13th May they will be holding their Annual Plant Sale at the Netley Marsh Community Hall from 10am until 2pm. eir next meeting takes place on Tuesday 13th June for a talk by Agnes Piaseczna titled ‘Grasses to enjoy in your garden’.
