We’ve certainly seen the housing market slowing as the squeeze continues on household nances and the cost of borrowing has put many buyers o . And yet, despite this, e Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors are suggesting a less gloomy outlook. ey say that fewer of their members reported house prices as falling and that the expectation from the majority was that house sales would continue to rise over the coming year. So, while not overly optimistic, it’s certainly not the doom and gloom some have predicted. It’s looking like a more settled period is before us, with some further small decreases in prices a possibility as the market gradually recovers. So, what does that mean for those of us locally? Essentially, if you’re selling your home, be pragmatic and go in with your eyes open. e silver lining may well be falling interest rates as the year progresses which will help sales. Until then, be as realistic as you can with what your home will sell for. If you’re looking to sell or buy throughout Totton, Ashurst, Lyndhurst and across the Waterside then get in touch with Andrea Waring and her team at e Waring Partnership. Andrea has extensive experience of residential sales and purchases, auctions, investment properties, commercial leases, and the sale and purchase of businesses. Her knowledge, and that of her team, is there for you to make the most of. Andrea looks forward to helping you, and can be contacted on 023 8084 9381. NEW WHATSAPP SCAM Advice from Action Fraud Criminals are targeting WhatsApp users by posing as a friend and asking for a security code. Action Fraud has received over 60 reports relating to this scam. e scam begins when a criminal gets access to another WhatsApp account which has you listed as a contact. e criminal, posing as your friend or someone that’s a member of a WhatsApp group you’re in, will then send you seemingly normal messages to try and start a conversation with you. However, around the same time you will receive a text message from WhatsApp with a six-digit code. is is because the criminal has been trying to login to WhatsApp using your mobile number. e criminal will claim that they sent you their code by accident and ask you to help them by sending it to them. Once the criminal has this code, they can login to your WhatsApp account and lock you out. e criminal will then use the same tactic with your WhatsApp contacts in an e ort to steal more accounts and use them to perpetrate fraud. What you need to do: • Set up two-step veri cation to give an extra layer of protection to your account: Tap Settings > Account >Two-step veri cation > Enable. • THINK. CALL.
