You will be able to meet some of the members, see samples of woodcarvings and maybe even a demonstration of carving at the Healthy Haven on Saturday 24th June, Marchwood Fete on Saturday 1st July, Hythe of Activity on Saturday 5th August and then the big one: their spectacular Annual Exhibition at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Dibden Purlieu on Saturday 12th August. Look out for more details of their Annual Exhibition, which will take Carving by Paul Humphriss on a slightly di erent format this year. All that is on top of their regular fortnightly workshops at Noadswood School as well as fun and games at the June social and their picnic in July. Members are currently working on a huge range of projects: from dolphins, sh and birds to bowls, name plates, relief carvings, spoons and abstract designs. ey use a wide variety of tools including chisels, knives, rasps and small power tools and a wide variety of woods too. Romsey & District Railway Modellers Society Open Day – Free Entry! e Romsey & District Railway Modellers Society are pleased to be supporting, the Romsey Festival by holding an open day on Saturday 8th July From 10.30am to 4pm at the Scout Headquarters, Braish eld Road, Romsey, SO51 0PB. Go along to see behind the scenes demonstrations of modelling and their latest club layout, North Waltham Junction. ere will be 9 layouts to look at including some owned by the Society and others owned by its members. A second-hand stall together with the sale of rolling stock etc will be also available on the day. So go along and see how it is done!
