What we did hear was no doubt talked about in whispers or disparaging tones, behind closed doors or with disapproving frowns. e fact is some of us have robust mental health, whilst others struggle with it. According to the World Health Organization, we all have mental health, and there is no health without mental health. Susan Hayward made a career change eight years ago to deliver Mental Health First Aid and Awareness courses accredited to Mental Health First Aid England, the leading provider of mental health rst aid training. She has facilitated over 250 courses for a wide range of commercial organisations and voluntary, community and social enterprises, including schools, colleges and community interest groups. Mental health rst aid courses promote early intervention and recovery and can prevent those developing poor mental health from getting worse. However a new date has been con rmed for this wonderful event, which will now take place in Hythe Marina on 9th September. ere will be around 10 teams taking to the water this year, competing in a number of races throughout the day. As well as the exciting races, there will be local food stalls available to keep you sustained for a fabulous day out for all the family. All proceeds from the day will go towards supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer, and their families. Last year’s event raised over £12,000 for the Charity and they are hoping this year’s event will raise even more money.
