In keeping with this year’s Hawaiian theme, friends and family donned grass skirts and owery shirts to get into the festival spirit. BrannFest showcases upcoming local artists, and throughout the day festival-goers enjoyed performances from Munro, Miylah, Manni, John & Ze Harris, Broken Bones, Dowding, (also Chris’s sister!) and Clare Adams, Pastoral Coordinator, represented the Charity and had several eager, young volunteers helping to sell Honeypot merchandise on the day. Donations were also made for BrannFest 2023 festival wristbands and for chilled beverages (ale kindly donated by Remedy Oak Brewing Co.), which helped to keep everyone cool in the heat of the sun! Brannfest Stage with Munro performing Chris Brannigan, Brannfest organiser with the woodburned bee created by Customised Timber Artistry that was auctioned at the event Cathleen Dowding and Clare Adams with Honeypot stall at Brannfest Permissible Mistakes and Jack Wood Guitar. Honeypot’s Wellbeing Coordinator, Cathleen those involved in the preparation of the day, the amazing musical performers and to everyone who attended, donated and supported the event, including Aeropark Developments Ltd. It looks like a super time was had by all and their energy and enthusiasm have raised funds which will help local young carers aged 5-12 to enjoy lots of fun on residential respite breaks at Honeypot House which is just outside Blackfield.” Ahead of the event, Customised Timber Artistry created a very special woodburning of a bee, to symbolise Honeypot, and on the day this was auctioned o and sold to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going directly to the charity. All money raised on the day was donated to Honeypot through the BigGive initiative, which ran in June, seeing donations doubled by e Childhood Trust and INEOS Lyndhurst as part of the Caring Together appeal, meaning that BrannFest 2023 raised an amazing total of just over £5,000! Viv Carter, Honeypot’s Community Engagement Manager, commented: “We are so grateful to Chris and Diana for this wonderful local support, to all News fromAlan Titheridge that his new book ‘Hythe’s Hotspurs and other Boats’ is complete and will shortly be published by Simon Chadwick of Ceratopia Books.
