Members were so engrossed in the activity that there was no time for refreshments! Members are looking forward to a busy summer, including Di Smith (centre) presenting the Runner-up Shield to Maggie Port and Pippa Smith Di Smith with Fred Wilson Cup Mark Baker with Novice Cup the Annual Exhibition on Saturday 12th August at St Andrew’s, 11am to 3pm. Entry is free. ere will be a large selection of carvings on display, a table of carvings to vote for, a Touch Table (please handle with care), a sales table and a prize draw for a beautiful carved bird: draw tickets £2 and only available on the day. Join Unique Retail along with all the other stall holders in St Johns Hall in Hythe for their annual Christmas in July event. A traditional event that Unique Retail used to hold when they had a shop on Hythe High Street and have carried on and now convinced other stall holders to join them as well! ere will be some sneaky peaks at new stock as well as some great ideas to give you a head start on your Christmas shopping this year! A really good time was had at Hythe Wives on the 2nd June with the Sing for Cancer Choir and an interesting talk by Ian Mucean on the 16th June. eir last meeting before the summer break will be a members Cream Tea and Social. ey have no meetings in August and will start again on 1st September with a social, followed by a social and quiz. Hythe Wives normally meet on the first and third Fridays of the month at St Andrew’s Church, Dibden Purlieu, from 2pm to 4pm. ey have a subscription twice a year but visitors may attend for £2 deductible from the fee if you join £15 twice a year. HYTHE WIVES e Waterside Arts Festival continues on Thursday 13th July with Storyteller Mike O’Leary* in Hythe Library at 3.45pm and Music for a Summer Evening from Lymington Town Band* in St John’s Church at 7.30pm. Friday 14th July from noon-4pm go along to the classroom at Lepe Country Park for Splash into Art, e Spice Box eatre will be at Calshot Beach and the Big Sing* is taking place at Hythe Parish Hall at 7.30pm. Saturday 15th July there will be Big Art Gallery Displays in St Johns Hall all day, Under e Sea Cra s for Children in Hythe Library from 10am-noon and the launch of Story Quest will take place at Gang Warily Recreation Centre. is year’s festival will come to a close on Sunday 16th July with a showing of Luana: A Yak in the Classroom at Hythe & Dibden Parish Hall, 7.30pm, tickets are £6 from Pebbles on the High Street or on the door.
