Page 16 • The HERALD • 3rd August 2023 v SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES v WATERSIDE NETWORK GROUP: MEMBER FOCUS by Simon Chadwick For many cat owners, what to do with your loved one while you’re away from home is always a headache. Waterside Network Group member e Purrfect Cat Ladies present a fresh solution to what to do with your kitty that is ideal for both you and your cat. e Purrfect Cat Ladies is run by Tracey Smith who has been running the Whispers Cattery for the past 10 years. e site of Whispers is now up for sale, so Tracey has decided to take her knowledge directly to you – in your home. Tracey also has 20 years’ experience in property management, visiting up to 60 properties a week. Consequently, she’s used to visiting people’s homes in a respectful manner and understands that the safety and security of your home is of the utmost importance. So, what does a home visit entail? Your cat will remain in the comfort of their own home while a friendly face will check on them, feed them, change litter boxes, and, with Tracey’s years of experience with kitty chit-chat, spend some quality time with them. She is more than capable in administering medicines and for caring for elderly cats too. Visits can be once, twice or three times a day and can also include picking up the post, feeding sh, watering your garden and putting out your bins. Tracey can even organise some breakfast essentials for your return. You’ll get daily photos and updates about your cat to aid your peace of mind. If a home visit isn’t right for you, Tracey is currently in the process of constructing four luxury cat chalets at her home for those that feel that their kitty deserves a holiday too. e Purrfect Cat Ladies service is available on the Waterside, Totton and Cadnam. I’ve been asked many times if I o er a cartoon course for children but other than individual workshops carried out in schools and groups it’s not something I’ve had the time to investigate. However, following on from a rather fabulous Cartoon Capers event at the Waterside Arts Festival, and with support from Culture In Common, I plan to put on the course for the rst time this autumn. e actual Waterside venue is yet to be con rmed, but the course will be eight weeks of one-hour sessions, and will cover cartooning techniques, character design, lettering, cartoon strips and more. It will be limited to 15 children and, although not free, will have a nominal charge per session. e course is suitable for any age and ability, although an interest in drawing and the ability to sit still is preferable. You can register your interest now with me at simon@ceratopia.co.uk so I can get in touch directly once the venue and dates are con rmed.
