To be held on Wednesday 29th May at the Domus in Beaulieu, courtesy of Lord Montagu, this promises to be a very enjoyable and entertaining event. With a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, guests can delight in the amazing historic surroundings before tucking into a 4 course meal and co ee. As well as a ra e and auction, Lord Strathcarron’s talk, entitled ‘Life in the Lords, an Insider’s View’ will round o the evening and all funds raised on the night will be used to support Rotary’s local, national and worldwide charities. Local postie turned author illustrator, Steve Boyce, has recently released his third children’s book following the adventures of Cornelius Cone – a character inspired by a sign on the M27 with the words ‘Cone Helpline’ that appealed to his sense of humour as he imagines the cones calling a helpline! e new book, ‘Cornelius Cone and the Earth’s Crust’ sees the loveable tra c cone and his friends, including posties and some vegetarian dinosaurs, trying to save the day as the Earth’s crust is in danger! Steve has dedicated his latest book to Gloria – a beloved former postie who sadly passed away. He o en gets inspiration Watch the Simon Says team take on the Saints Legends at a Charity Football Match on Saturday 25th May, 10am to 4pm (Kick o 1pm), at Totton Football Club, raising money for child bereavement charity Simon Says and the Saints Legends charity, who in turn distribute what they have raised to local charities at the end of each year. As well as the big match there will be a bouncy castle, giant slide, food, bar, face painting, ra e, cakes and cra s, plus the opportunity to win a ride in a Lamborghini or a Lotus from Sporting Bears.
