Set up by Del Edwards, Hythe Nutrition Club opened the doors on 9th October 2023, with the intention of educating people about nutrition and how to fuel their bodies e ectively, whilst creating an environment for members to help and champion each other in achieving their goals. Five years ago Del made a conscious decision to improve his own health and tness and joined a nutrition club in London. e club helped to educate him about nutrition and nding the area really interesting, Del enrolled on several training courses and undertook his own research to deepen his knowledge of nutrition. Del has an infectious personality and is really passionate about sharing his knowledge to help others. He has already been involved in projects with both Surrey and Hampshire County Councils, teaching children about nutrition at summer camps and with his retirement from the military approaching, Del decided to set up his own nutrition club in Hythe, with a view to hopefully opening clubs across the New Forest. An initial 1 to1 assessment with Del will include a body scan and nutritional evaluation covering weight, body fat, body water, muscle mass, muscle quality, bone mass, BMR, metabolic age, visceral fat, physique rating, BMI and DCI. Del will help you to understand the analysis and tailor a programme of nutrition to help you to achieve your health goals whether you are Del Edwards, Hythe Nutrition Club ladies in the Club have also created a Women’s Circle providing an added layer of support. In the 6 months since opening Hythe Nutrition Club it has already established a supportive community of members, with regular walks and activities organised for both members and their families to join in and the Waterside Health Walks Everyone is very welcome to go along and join in any of their walks: Thursday 16th May, 3pm, Hawkhill#4 for a 2.6 mile walk; Monday 20th May, 10am, Parc Pale#3 for a 2.9 mile walk; Saturday 25th May, 10.30am, Fritham car park for a 5.6 mile walk; and Thursday 30th May, 3pm, Old Mill Holbury for a 2.5 mile walk. Hythe Memory Group meet up every Monday, from 2pm to 3.15pm at Cornerstone (Hythe URC), New Road, Hythe. Families Matter run the support group which o ers cognitive stimulation therapy for people with early stage dementia. It encourages people to socialise and have fun learning and remembering together. Carers are also welcome to stay and have a cup of tea and chat to other carers.
