Expect abstract forms, birds, animals, recent trophy winning carvings and the 2023 Woodblock entries. In addition to the display there will be a sales table of carvings, walking sticks and jewellery and demonstrations of carving techniques and pyrography. Go along and meet the members and nd out about this fascinating hobby. ere will also be a prize draw for an exquisite life-like carving of two robins, created by member and former British Champion Maggie Port. Tickets are £2 each and only available to purchase on the day. e draw will take place at 3pm. While many carvings are rather delicate, many people feel the urge to handle them, so the club will have a selection of more robust carvings on a ‘Touch Table’. As always, just for fun, visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite carving from a selected range. is small, friendly club has regular fortnightly workshops on Thursday evenings at Noadswood School, using their woodwork room. Life-like carving of two robins by Maggie Port is year’s Exbury Club Fete & Flower Show is taking place on Saturday 3rd August. e fete will open at 12noon, with the Flower Show opening at 2pm and prize giving at 3.30pm. e ower show has a variety of classes including fruits and vegetables, owers, cookery, cra s and children’s classes. Exbury Club Fete & Flower Show On Monday 5th August at Lepe Country Park, create a decorative piece of work of your own design combining contact/nature printing, lino stamps, frottage, Indian ink drawing and stitch on to a material base. Material, thread, stamps, and ink will be provided (nonwashable ink).
